Opeyemi and Friday Steal the Show at LBHF Boxing Series
Ibrahim Opeyemi and Kingsley Friday dominated their respective bouts at the Lagos Boxing Hall of Fame (LBHF) tournament, forcing referee stoppages in their fights at Agege Stadium over the weekend. The men's 60kg category saw Opeyemi deliver a decisive victory over Ajisola Habeeb, prompting the referee to intervene. In the men's 75kg, Friday overwhelmed Lekan Kolawole, bringing an early end to their contest.
Nura Sulaimon and Oyindamola Agboola also delivered impressive performances in the women's division. Sulaimon defeated Mariam Tijani 5–0 in the 48kg category, while Agboola overcame Sofiat Yakub 4–1 to claim the 51kg crown. Other notable results included Akeem Salisu's 4–1 win over Mujeeb Olasunkanmi in the men's 50kg category and Kalid Akeem's 5–0 victory over Saliasu Hamzat in the men's 55kg.
The LBHF has been a breeding ground for talented boxers, and its monthly series has produced several world-class fighters. The organization, founded in 2010 by Minister of Finance Wale Edun, has nurtured numerous talents and hosted prestigious tournaments.
