**Ododo's Efforts in Sustaining Peace in Kogi State Commended**
In a recent chat with journalists in Lokoja, former Kogi State House of Assembly member, Ododo Idoko, has commended the current Governor of Kogi State, Usman Ododo, for his unwavering commitment to tackling insecurity and providing adequate security for the state's citizens.
Idoko, who represented Dekina/Biradu constituency from 2015 to 2023, praised the governor's leadership style, noting that it has etched its name in gold. He highlighted that Kogi State was previously notorious for banditry and kidnapping but the government, in collaboration with security agencies, has shown a high sense of responsibility in fighting insecurity.
The former lawmaker also pointed out that the construction of the 21st Battalion of the Nigerian Army in Kogi East has significantly reduced the security threat in the zone. Furthermore, he commended the governor's quick response to the closure of schools due to security concerns, which ultimately prevented potential attacks in Kogi and Kwara States.
On workers' welfare, Idoko noted that Governor Ododo has changed the narrative by ensuring the payment of salaries before the end of the month, making it a culture across the state. He also commended the present administration for various policies and interventions in health, education, youth and women empowerment, and agriculture, in partnership with the World Bank, to boost food security and production.
Idoko urged the people of Kogi State to shun ethnic sentiments and support the leadership of Governor Ododo to take the state to greater heights. His words are a testament to the government's commitment to the people's welfare and security, a welcome respite for a state that has faced numerous challenges in the past.
In a state like Kogi, where security and economic challenges have been a significant concern, the efforts of Governor Ododo and his administration are a step in the right direction. The people of Kogi State can only hope that this momentum is sustained and that the state continues to move towards a safer and more prosperous future.
