The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has released the timetable for the 2026 Batch 'A' Stream Two orientation course. The three-week programme will run nationwide across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. Reception and registration of prospective corps members will take place from April 22 to April 24, 2026, with the swearing-in ceremony scheduled for April 24. The orientation course will officially end on May 12, after which corps members will proceed to their places of primary assignment.
Mrs. Caroline Embu, NYSC Director of Information and Public Relations, issued the statement on Wednesday in Abuja. She urged all mobilised graduates to travel safely to their orientation camps. Night journeys are strongly discouraged. Prospective corps members are advised to halt travel by 6.00 p.m. and resume the next morning.
Nigerian graduates selected for the 2026 Batch 'A' Stream Two NYSC programme now have clear dates to plan around, starting with registration on April 22 and ending with deployment on May 12. This timetable provides a critical window for graduates to finalise travel, accommodation, and documentation ahead of orientation.
For many Nigerian graduates, NYSC remains a mandatory gateway to employment and postgraduate opportunities, especially as JAMB and tertiary institutions often require proof of service. The emphasis on safe travel reflects recurring concerns about road safety during mobilisation, a real issue given the long distances many students from southern Nigeria must cover to reach northern camps.
Graduates should begin arranging secure lodging near their assigned camps well in advance and avoid last-minute travel. Confirming camp location and transport options early will reduce stress and ensure compliance with the 6 p.m. travel curfew.
