Nigeria is making its mark on the world's richest list, with four of its citizens proudly taking their place among the top 27 Black billionaires globally. The country's presence on this prestigious list is no surprise, given its growing economic influence and the success of its entrepreneurs. The number of Black billionaires worldwide has reached a record 27, with their combined wealth estimated at $121 billion.
The growth in their wealth is attributed to rising asset values, new fortunes driven by innovation and private equity investments, and the expanding economic influence of Black entrepreneurs across various sectors. Within this growing number, Nigeria is holding its own, with its citizens making significant strides in heavy industry, finance, entertainment, sports, and technology.
Aliko Dangote, Nigeria's leading businessman, tops the list for the second consecutive year with an estimated net worth of $28.5 billion. BUA Group has continued to expand its footprint across Nigeria and the continent, reflecting the sustained growth of Rabiu's empire.
