NEMA Distributes Relief Materials to Fire, Windstorm Victims In Niger
**NEMA Shows Love to Niger State Victims of Fire and Windstorm Disasters**
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has shown its commitment to helping Nigerians in need by distributing relief materials to those affected by the devastating fire and windstorm disasters that hit Chanchaga Federal Constituency in Niger State. The distribution exercise, which took place on March 14, 2026, at the PDP Secretariat in Minna, was a joint effort between NEMA and the Member representing Chanchaga Federal Constituency, Abubakar Abdul Buba.
The Head of Operations of the NEMA Minna Operations Office, Mr. Hussaini Isah, who was represented by Dr. Zainab A. Ndanusa, commended the affected persons and stressed that the relief materials were a gift from the Federal Government to ease the impact of the disasters. He encouraged the beneficiaries to use the items wisely.
Abubakar Abdul Buba, in his remarks, thanked the Director-General of NEMA, Zubaida Umar, for the intervention and assured that the items would reach the intended recipients. The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Niger State, Hon. Aliyu Halidu, also commended NEMA for its gesture and expressed hope for continued collaboration between the agency and relevant stakeholders.
The relief materials distributed included essential items such as bags of rice and maize, spaghetti, vegetable oil, seasoning cubes, tomato paste, and iodised salt. The exercise, which was attended by stakeholders from various organizations, including the Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA), the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Police Force, and local vigilante groups, community leaders, and affected persons, was a show of unity and support for those affected by the disasters.
This kind gesture by NEMA is a reminder of the importance of collaboration and support in times of crisis. It is a demonstration of the agency's commitment to helping Nigerians in need and its willingness to work with stakeholders to ensure that relief reaches those who need it most.
