A one-month intensive training program on steel welding and fabrication has been launched in Oyo State by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) in partnership with INTER CORE SOLUTIONS LTD. Fifty participants have been selected to undergo the training, which aims to equip them with practical skills in steel welding and fabrication, thereby enhancing their employability and entrepreneurial prospects. The training program is part of NCDMB's efforts to promote local content development in the oil and gas industry and to bridge the skills gap in the Nigerian workforce.
The training will cover both theoretical and practical aspects of steel welding and fabrication, including safety protocols, welding techniques, and fabrication methods. Upon completion of the program, participants are expected to gain hands-on experience and acquire certification. The training is scheduled to conclude in April, with a graduation ceremony to mark the successful completion of the program.
The training program is a significant step towards promoting local content development in the oil and gas industry, a sector that has been a major driver of Nigeria's economy. The skills acquired by the participants will not only enhance their employability but also contribute to the growth of the industry.
The launch of the steel welding and fabrication training program is a welcome development in the oil and gas industry, which has been plagued by a shortage of skilled workers. By equipping 50 participants with practical skills, NCDMB is taking a significant step towards promoting local content development and bridging the skills gap in the Nigerian workforce. This initiative has the potential to boost the growth of the industry and contribute to the country's economic development.
