Four people died and eight were injured in a crash involving a commercial Toyota Hiace bus on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway. The accident occurred at 1:30 a.m. on Sunday in front of Christopher University, according to Mr Afolabi Odunsi, Public Relations Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun Command. The vehicle, with registration number AGL 789 YL, had 13 occupants—11 adult males and two adult females—when it lost control due to a burst tyre and excessive speed. Odunsi confirmed the incident in a statement issued on Monday in Abeokuta. Preliminary findings by the FRSC attributed the crash to mechanical failure compounded by speed violation. The injured were taken to Famobis Hospital for treatment, while the deceased were moved to the Idera morgue.
