Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Bunza, lawmaker representing Birnin Kebbi, Kalgo and Bunza federal constituency in Kebbi State, has left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the All Progressives Congress (APC). He cited prolonged leadership crises and internal conflicts within the PDP as the primary reasons for his defection. According to a statement released in Sokoto, Bunza said unresolved disputes and continuous litigations have crippled the party's effectiveness. He described the situation as a major obstacle to members who want to contribute meaningfully to party growth and democratic engagement.
Bunza stated that he consulted with constituents and political stakeholders before making the decision. "Following the wide consultations with my constituents and key political stakeholders, I have decided to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC)," he said. He emphasized that the move was in the best interest of his people and would improve his capacity for effective representation. His resignation letter has been submitted to the PDP Ward Chairman in Nasarawa 1 Ward, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives has been formally informed.
