Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has dismissed the chances of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) winning elections in Kano State. He stated this during an address to supporters at the Government House in Kano on Saturday, following his return from the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention in Abuja and the party's Northwest Zonal Congress in Kaduna. Yusuf expressed confidence in securing a second term under the APC, attributing this to his administration's development efforts. He described the APC as the strongest political party in Nigeria and claimed ADC and other opposition parties lack the strength to win elections in Kano or nationally.
The governor urged residents not to be swayed by opposition campaigns, insisting the APC remains dominant. He praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for economic reforms and infrastructure development, and affirmed Kano's support for Tinubu's re-election in 2027. Yusuf reiterated his administration's commitment to progress in education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, and youth and women empowerment. His arrival at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport was met by a large crowd, which escorted his convoy through major city roads before the gathering at the Government House.
Abba Kabir Yusuf's outright dismissal of ADC's relevance in Kano politics reveals a confidence rooted in the APC's current dominance, not electoral inevitability. His public rally and direct alignment with Tinubu signal that 2027 is already shaping up as a battle of momentum, not policy. For Nigerians in Kano, this means opposition parties must do more than campaign—they must build visible, credible alternatives.
