Joan Lunden (born Joan Elise Blunden on September 19, 1950) is an American journalist, television host, author, and motivational speaker. She is best known for co-hosting ABC’s Good Morning America from 1980 to 1997, becoming one of the most familiar faces in morning television. During her 17 years on GMA, she interviewed four U.S. presidents, covered five Olympic Games, reported from 26 countries, and anchored major events such as royal weddings and historical anniversaries. After leaving GMA, she focused on hosting, writing, and advocacy, and has written more than 10 books about parenting, health, aging, and personal growth.
