The Watchdog Diplomats, a civil society group, has endorsed President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, describing it as a "visionary blueprint" for economic revival and national renewal. In a statement signed by its National Coordinator, George Pius, and released in Abuja, the group praised Tinubu's focus on economic reforms, security and infrastructure, saying these efforts had boosted public confidence. It emphasized that the agenda must be implemented with transparency and inclusiveness to ensure all regions benefit equitably.
The group, however, cautioned the President against appointing individuals medically unfit for office, specifically raising concerns about engineer Adokiye Tombomieye. It cited alleged health challenges that could impair performance, particularly in demanding roles such as those in the Niger Delta region. The statement stressed that public office requires "immense stamina, clarity of thought and physical resilience." Appointing someone with health limitations, the group warned, could weaken governance and damage public trust.
