United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc hosted a hybrid edition of its quarterly Business Series at UBA House, Marina, Lagos, themed "Gen.W: The Evolved Woman," aligning with International Women's Month. The event spotlighted female leaders and entrepreneurs redefining success in business, leadership and innovation across Africa. Michelle Nwoga, UBA's Group Head, Customer Experience, described the evolved woman as proactive, self-aware and unafraid to speak up. Media personality Tobi Bakre, who moderated the session, defined her as grounded in self-worth and committed to uplifting other women. Panellists included Joycee Awosika, founder of ORÍKÌ Group; Tomike Adeoye, digital entrepreneur; Olufunke Davies, founder of Fine-Funky; and broadcaster Ayo Mario-Ese. Awosika emphasized that modern women no longer seek seats at existing tables—they create their own. Adeoye noted that women today set their own standards and are vocal about their struggles. Mario-Ese encouraged women to own their achievements and share their journeys. Alero Ladipo, UBA's Group Head, Brand, Marketing and Corporate Communications, praised attendees for advancing women's leadership. The Gen.W platform, launched by UBA, aims to provide women with resources to grow businesses and careers.
