**IGP Visits Maiduguri, Assures Residents of Enhanced Security** In the wake of recent terrorist attacks in Borno State, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Mr. Disu, paid a visit to Maiduguri, the state capital, to assess the situation and offer support to survivors. This visit comes hours after President Bola Tinubu directed top military officials to relocate to Borno State to tackle the escalating terrorist threats in the region. During his visit, the IGP inspected the scene of the Monday Market bombing in Maiduguri, which was one of the locations targeted by terrorists. The bombings, believed to have been carried out by suicide bombers, resulted in the loss of at least 23 lives and left over 100 people injured. The IGP also met with the Borno State Government and the State Police Command to review the current security arrangements and strengthen the coordinated response strategies to prevent future attacks. He commiserated with the families of the victims and assured the people of Maiduguri that the Nigeria Police Force is committed to dismantling the networks responsible for these attacks and ensuring the safety of residents. In the wake of these attacks, security in Maiduguri has been significantly beefed up, with increased patrols, enhanced surveillance, and joint operations between security agencies to prevent further threats and ensure public safety. This includes the repelling of a terrorist attack on a military position in Ajilari, a suburb of Maiduguri, which also saw simultaneous attacks in Baga, Bututai, and Damboa.
