Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has fired back at German weapons manufacturer Rheinmetall's CEO, Armin Papperger, for downplaying Ukraine's drone industry.

The country is also expanding its arms manufacturing in Europe, with a joint venture between Germany's Quantum Systems and Ukraine's Frontline Robotics set to produce up to 10,000 drones within a year.
Kyiv officials have highlighted the important role women play in Ukraine's drone industry, with over 20,000 women serving in combat roles and many more working as drone operators and developers. Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko has called Papperger's remarks sexist, pointing out that Ukrainian women are an essential part of the country's war effort and Europe's security.
