David Carradine (born John Arthur Carradine Jr.; December 8, 1936 – June 3, 2009) was an American actor, director, producer, and martial artist. He was best known for playing Kwai Chang Caine in the TV series Kung Fu (1972–1975). As part of the well-known Carradine acting family, he worked in more than 200 films, TV shows, and stage productions over nearly fifty years. Some of his most famous roles were Tom Frank in Nashville (1975), E.J. Bellocq in Pretty Baby (1978), Bill in Kill Bill (2003–2004), and Wild Bill Hickok in Deadwood (2004). Carradine was nominated for a Golden Globe for Bound for Glory (1976) and won a Saturn Award for Kill Bill: Vol. 2 (2004).
