The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has elected a new National Working Committee (NWC) at its national convention held in Abuja on Sunday. Abdulrahaman Mohammed emerged as the National Chairman, while other new members of the NWC were elected through consensus votes to lead the party for the next four years.

Aaron Chukwuemeka and Yusufu Akirikwen, SAN, were elected as Deputy National Chairman (South) and Deputy National Chairman (North) respectively. Samuel Anyanwu emerged as the National Secretary, with Kolawole Olabisi as Deputy National Secretary. Diran Odeyemi was elected as National Treasurer, with Lado Mark as Deputy National Treasurer.

Eyim Henry was elected as National Financial Secretary, Dr Grema Kyari as Deputy National Financial Secretary, and Umar Bature as National Organising Secretary. Efere Augustine was elected as Deputy National Organising Secretary, while Jungudo Mohammed emerged as National Publicity Secretary.

Egwu Chidiebere was elected as Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Kamaldeen Ajibade as National Legal Adviser, and Aloysius Uba as Deputy National Legal Adviser. Osuoha Donatus was elected as National Auditor, with Dr Adaba Yatu as Deputy National Auditor. Prof. Ogunshe Adedayo was elected as National Woman Leader, with Hauwa Shinge as Deputy National Woman Leader.

Ibrahim Aboki emerged as National Youth Leader, with Momoh Bashir as Deputy National Youth Leader. The new NWC members were immediately sworn-in, with Abdulrahaman Mohammed pledging not to disappoint the party.
