The Federal High Court in Abuja has adjourned a N1 billion suit filed by former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai against the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to June 17.
The suit, which was initially scheduled for hearing on Tuesday, was adjourned due to the absence of the plaintiff's lawyer. El-Rufai had filed the suit against the ICPC, alleging rights violation.
The court had previously ordered El-Rufai to pay a N100,000 fine for abandoning the case. However, the former governor dropped the case against Abuja Magistrate, who had earlier been summoned by El-Rufai.
El-Rufai, who served as governor of Kaduna State from 2015 to 2023, had accused the ICPC of wrongfully summoning him before a magistrate court.
