**Security Tightens in Ondo as Aiyedatiwa Orders Crackdown on Kidnappers**
Residents of Ondo State can now breathe a sigh of relief as the state government has announced a decisive crackdown on kidnappers and other criminal elements terrorising the state. Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has directed the security agencies, including the military, police, and Amotekun, to launch a coordinated operation to combat the rising cases of abduction.
Investigations by security agencies have revealed that some of these crimes have local collaborators, who work hand-in-hand with the kidnappers to perpetrate their nefarious activities. The governor has vowed that such actions will not be tolerated and has directed the security agencies to intensify surveillance and apprehend those involved in these crimes.
Aiyedatiwa's administration has been working tirelessly to strengthen the state's security architecture, and significant investments have been made to provide utility vehicles and logistics support to security agencies. The construction of a state-of-the-art Crime Control Centre for the Ondo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun Corps) and the recent recruitment of 500 well-trained Amotekun personnel have also bolstered the state's security efforts.
However, the governor has warned that some unscrupulous elements are using criminal activities to portray the state as unsafe. He has urged traditional rulers to heighten vigilance within their domains and promptly report suspicious movements or gatherings to security operatives. He has also called on residents to report any suspicious activities to the authorities, assuring citizens that the protection of lives and property remains the administration's top priority.
In a statement, the governor said, "If you see something, say something. We will not tolerate any individual or group that undermines the peace, security, and stability of our dear state." This is a clear message to kidnappers and other criminal elements that their days are numbered in Ondo State.
With this latest directive, it is clear that the Ondo State government is committed to ensuring the safety and security of its residents. As the state continues to work towards a safer and more secure environment, residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
