The Mastercard Foundation has opened applications for the third cycle of its Fund for Alumni Start-ups in Transition (FAST) programme, aimed at empowering young African entrepreneurs. The initiative offers grants ranging from ₦1.2 million to ₦7.5 million (approximately $3,000 to $15,000) to support the growth of businesses on the continent.
Eligible applicants, including alumni of programmes like the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), African Leadership Academy (ALA), and the Anzisha Prize, will not only receive funding but also access to business training, mentorship, and a network of entrepreneurs.
The programme is implemented in partnership with Nigerian organisations such as CcHUB, MDF Global, and Concree, among others. The goal is to equip the next generation of business leaders with the necessary skills and resources to drive economic growth in Africa.
To be eligible, applicants must be early-stage entrepreneurs or individuals in the process of building their businesses. Graduating students, including those from Nigerian universities, are also encouraged to apply. The programme specifically targets individuals who have a solid business idea, a clear vision, and a willingness to learn and grow.
Applicants will undergo a rigorous selection process, which includes a written application, interviews, and a pitch competition. Successful applicants will receive a grant, as well as access to business development training, mentorship, and a network of like-minded entrepreneurs.
The Mastercard Foundation's FAST programme is an excellent opportunity for Nigerian entrepreneurs to access funding, build their skills, and connect with a community of innovators and thought leaders. If you're a young entrepreneur with a big idea, don't miss this chance to apply and take your business to the next level.
