**Adamawa PDP Inaugurates Local Government Caretaker Committees in Wake of Fintiri's Defection** Following the high-profile defection of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri and his loyalists to the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State has taken a step to revitalize its structure at the grassroots level. The party has inaugurated caretaker committees for all 21 local government areas in the state. Each caretaker committee comprises a chairman, a secretary, and three other members who will oversee party affairs until elections are conducted, as stipulated in the PDP constitution. At the inauguration ceremony held in Yola, a legal practitioner, John Tunoh, administered the oath of office to the interim officials, advising them to adhere to the party's constitution and national laws. The state interim PDP chairman, Belmont Dogo, highlighted the importance of local government structures in the success of any political party. He tasked the caretaker committee members with rebuilding the party's image, restoring confidence among members, and laying the groundwork for future victories. The caretaker chairman of Fufore Local Government Area, Inuwa Umar, on behalf of the committee members, pledged to contribute to the growth and development of the party. This development comes at a critical time for the PDP in Adamawa State, which has been rocked by the defection of key members, including Governor Fintiri, his commissioners, special advisers, and other appointees, as well as PDP members in the national and state House of Assembly, who have all joined the APC. The party needs to regroup and devise a new strategy to regain its footing in the state.
