Adamawa women have called for the resignation of Ahmed Aminu Galadima, the Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund, PTDF, to contest the governorship election in Adamawa state. The demand was made by the Galadima Women Support Group, GWSG, at their convention in Yola, the state capital. The group cited Galadima's track record of achievements and integrity as the reason for their support.

The GWSG has already raised over N120 million to secure nomination and expression of intent forms for Galadima to contest the APC ticket. The group also plans to mobilize three million votes in support of President Bola Tinubu's re-election in the state.

Galadima's wife, Hajiya Sa'adatu, expressed gratitude to the women for urging her husband to contest. She stated that Galadima understands the challenges facing the people in the state and is committed to addressing them if given the opportunity to serve as Governor in the 2027 General elections.

The call for Ahmed Aminu Galadima to resign as PTDF boss and contest the governorship election raises questions about the role of public officials in politics. The fact that the Galadima Women Support Group has raised over N120 million to secure his nomination forms highlights the influence of money in politics. As Nigerians, we should be concerned about the potential conflict of interest and the impact on governance. The decision of Galadima's wife to thank the women for urging her husband to contest also raises eyebrows. What does this say about the blurred lines between public and private interests in Nigeria's politics?
