A compact Android phone with a BlackBerry-inspired keyboard has landed on Kickstarter, offering a unique blend of nostalgia and modern features. The Unihertz Titan 2 Elite is a smaller and lighter version of the company's Titan 2 phone, which was launched last year as a modernized version of the BlackBerry Passport. This new device boasts a design reminiscent of the BlackBerry Bold lineup, with a slightly boxier shape to accommodate a 4.03-inch 120Hz AMOLED display. The phone runs on Android 16, with promised OS upgrades to Android 20, and features 5G connectivity, dual nano SIMs, and eSIM support. It also includes a full QWERTY keyboard that can be used as a trackpad, a 4,050mAh battery, and a set of 50MP cameras with telephoto capabilities.
The Titan 2 Elite is available for preorder through Kickstarter, starting at $489 for the standard version and $579 for the more expensive Pro model. Early backers can get the standard version for $389. The phone is expected to ship as early as June 2026.
Unihertz is offering two versions of its modernized BlackBerry: the standard Titan 2 Elite and the Titan 2 Elite Pro. The standard version features a Dimensity 7400 processor, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage, while the Pro model has a faster Dimensity 8400 processor, 512GB of storage, and a 50MP telephoto camera with optical image stabilization capabilities.
The Unihertz Titan 2 Elite's unique blend of a BlackBerry-inspired keyboard and modern features could appeal to a niche market of users who value physical keyboards. While it may not be the slimmest phone on the market, its features and design make it an interesting option for those looking for a device that stands out from the crowd.
