One of the quintuplets born at Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital in Kano has sadly passed away, while the remaining four babies are being closely monitored in the hospital's Special Care Baby Unit. The newborns were admitted to the unit due to their very low birth weight and other complications. According to medical reports, the quintuplets were placed on intensive care support immediately after delivery, including incubator care, intravenous fluids, and antibiotic therapy.

The deceased baby, a female weighing 1.3 kilograms, died after receiving a blood transfusion following complications related to apnoea. The three male babies, weighing between 1.2 and 1.3 kilograms, are receiving various levels of care. Baby 3 is reported to be stable under intensive care, while Baby 4 has received a blood transfusion and continues to receive specialised care. Baby 2 has also received a blood transfusion and is under observation.

The hospital has assured the public of its commitment to quality healthcare delivery and has commended the dedication of healthcare workers at the facility. The medical team is working tirelessly to ensure the best possible outcome for the surviving babies.
