Yusuf announces key appointments, congratulates APC by-election winners
Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has congratulated the winners of the recent by-elections in Kano Municipal and Ungogo constituencies, urging them to justify the confidence reposed in them by the masses.
The governor stated this at the 38th State Executive Council (SEC) meeting, during which he also announced key political appointments.
Yusuf congratulated Nabil Sarki Aliyu Daneji and Sa’ad Aminu Sa’ad, both of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for emerging victorious in the polls.
He called on the lawmakers-elect to prioritise the needs of the people and work diligently to deliver democratic dividends to their constituencies.
He also congratulated Umar Haruna Doguwa on his emergence as chairman of the APC in Kano State, following the party’s recent congress.
He expressed hope that the party’s leadership would contribute positively to the state’s democratic process and ensure total victory in next year’s general election.
The governor stated that his administration will continue to implement programmes aimed at improving the welfare of residents across the state.
According to him, the initiatives include the distribution of motorcycles to social media influencers to support communication and engagement efforts, as well as the establishment of 150 Ramadan feeding centres to provide meals for vulnerable people during the fasting period.
Governor Yusuf further confirmed the appointment of Bilkisu Shehu Maimota as the Acting Head of Service (HoS) following the removal of Alhaji Abdullahi Musa from office.
Yusuf urged Maimota to strengthen discipline, unity and professionalism within the state civil service to ensure improved service delivery.
