Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has disclosed that the Tanimu Turaki-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) visited the leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a gesture of solidarity. The visit followed the ADC's protest at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters in Abuja. Makinde explained the delegation's purpose after a late-night meeting between factional leaders of the ADC and PDP at the Abuja residence of former Senate President David Mark. "We came here to visit the leadership of ADC, we are on a solidarity visit and we have seen what has been happening within the political space, the court and protest, so we came to show solidarity and to commit to a clean democratic space in our country," he said. The gathering brought together key political figures, including former Attorney General Abubakar Malami, ex-governors Rotimi Amaechi, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Aminu Tambuwal, Peter Obi, and Babangida Aliyu. Former Information Minister Jerry Gana and PDP National Secretary Taofeek Arapaja were also present. The meeting occurred hours after the ADC demonstrated at INEC, underscoring growing opposition coordination amid ongoing legal and political disputes.
