US F-35 Stealth Fighter Hit By Suspected Iranian Fire – Reports
**US F-35 Stealth Fighter Lands Safely After Suspected Iranian Fire**
A US F-35 stealth warplane made an emergency landing at an American air base in the Middle East on Thursday, following reports of being hit by suspected Iranian fire.
According to Captain Tim Hawkins, spokesman for US Central Command, the aircraft landed safely, and the pilot is in stable condition. Hawkins released a statement, however, declined to confirm the reports from reputable outlets including *ABC* and *CNN*. The incident is currently under investigation.
The reported incident highlights the ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran. The US has lost multiple aircraft during the conflict, including three F-15s mistakenly shot down by Kuwaiti forces and a KC-135 refueling aircraft that crashed in Iraq. However, none of these losses are attributed to Iranian fire.
The US and Israel launched a significant air campaign against Iran following a major buildup of US military forces, including F-35s, in the region. The operation began on February 28, and since then, 13 US service members have been killed, including six in the KC-135 crash and seven in Iranian attacks early in the war.
Additionally, around 200 US military personnel have been wounded in seven countries across the Middle East since the start of the operation. Most of these personnel have already returned to duty, according to the US military. The ongoing conflict in the region remains a complex and volatile situation, with both sides continuing to engage in military operations.
