Ultrahuman, a company that specializes in smart wearables, has finally opened pre-orders for its latest product, the Ring Pro, in the United States. This move comes after a long-standing legal battle with a rival company, Oura. The US Customs and Border Protection has now given its approval, paving the way for the Ring Pro to be sold in the US market.
The smart ring market is still in its early stages, and companies are fiercely competing to establish themselves as market leaders. Oura has been at the forefront of this competition, taking legal action against several companies, including Ultrahuman, Samsung, and others. In October 2025, Oura secured a significant legal victory over Ultrahuman, banning the import and sale of its rings in the US.
Despite this setback, Ultrahuman has designed the Ring Pro to avoid any potential legal issues. The company claims that its product is superior and that the lawsuit was an attempt to hinder its progress. The Ring Pro offers up to 15 days of battery life on a single charge and comes with a charging case that adds more functionality to the ring.
Pre-orders for the Ring Pro are now open, with the first 1,000 customers to sign up receiving a significant discount of $50. The standard price for the Ring Pro is $399, and the charging case costs an additional $100. However, for the early birds, they will be able to purchase both the Pro and the case for $349.
Ultrahuman's move to open pre-orders for the Ring Pro in the US is a significant development in the smart ring market. While it's not directly related to the Nigerian tech scene, it highlights the intense competition in the global wearable technology space. This competition is likely to drive innovation and better products for consumers worldwide.
