**Troops Shine in Borno as ISWAP Terrorists Meet Their Match** In a recent series of intense battles, troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have successfully repelled multiple coordinated attacks by suspected ISWAP fighters on Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) in Borno State. The bravery and skill of our soldiers have been on full display as they intensified offensive operations across Sector 2, thwarting the plans of the terrorists. According to a statement by Lt. Col. Sani Uba, Media Information Officer of Operation HADIN KAI, the terrorists launched these attacks between February 28 and March 1, 2026. This desperate move by ISWAP fighters highlights the pressure their enclaves, logistics corridors, and leadership structures are under. The gallant troops refused to back down, and their victory has dealt a significant blow to the terrorist group. At FOB Mayanti, the terrorists faced fierce resistance from our soldiers, who held firm despite intense enemy fire. Reinforcements fought through ambushes and IED threats to rout the attackers, resulting in the recovery of valuable combat equipment, including PKT anti-aircraft guns, RPGs, and AK-47 rifles. Sadly, an officer paid the ultimate price in this operation. In another operation, FOB Gajiram was attacked by terrorists armed with PKT guns, RPGs, and an armed drone. However, our troops, supported by air assets, successfully repelled the attack, recovering three terrorist bodies, four AK-47 rifles, anti-tank bombs, and other items. A wounded soldier was airlifted to a medical facility for advanced care. The successes of our troops in these operations highlight the degrading combat capacity of ISWAP elements. The scale of recoveries and confirmed enemy losses underscores the growing desperation of terrorist groups like ISWAP. As we continue to intensify our operations, we remain committed to bringing an end to the reign of terror in the North East. With all locations firmly under our control, we can confidently say that the people of Borno State are safer today than they were yesterday. Our troops will continue to work tirelessly to protect our citizens and bring peace to our communities.
