President Bola Tinubu sent a goodwill message on Wednesday as Senate President Godswill Akpabio inaugurated key infrastructure projects in Lagos on his behalf. The projects include the Ojota–Opebi Link Bridge, the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Administrative Complex, and the Lagos State Geographical Information System (GIS) building. Though Tinubu was in Lagos during the event, he did not attend, with his absence explained by his Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, as due to pressing security matters. Dare cited Tinubu's focus on developments in Jos and ongoing security briefings as reasons for the president's non-attendance. Akpabio, who represented Tinubu, said the president viewed the projects as vital responses to urban growth pressures. Tinubu described the Ojota–Opebi Link Bridge as "a bridge to opportunities," adding that improved mobility boosts productivity and business. He praised Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for prioritising impactful projects and accepted the naming of the administrative complex after him with humility. The GIS building, Tinubu noted, supports data-driven governance and public trust. Akpabio commended Sanwo-Olu's development strides and cut short a trip to Rabat, Morocco, to attend the event. He affirmed the National Assembly's backing of the Tinubu administration's economic agenda.
