Unity is not merely a social convenience; it is a spiritual blessing, ordained by God, fragrant in His sight, and powerful in its effect. The psalmist continues: “It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments” (Psalm 133:2). Here, unity is compared to the anointing oil used for consecration in Israel.
