TCAN rallies transport leaders for 2026 summit
Transport logistics efficiency will top the agenda at this year’s Transportation Correspondents Association of Nigeria (TCAN) Annual Transport Summit, which will critically examine how an efficient logistics framework could accelerate sustainable economic growth, trade facilitation, job creation and regional integration.
TCAN noted that the summit, billed for September in Lagos, will also explore innovative strategies, digital transformation, infrastructure financing, public-private partnerships, and regulatory frameworks needed to optimise the sector in line with ongoing reforms and infrastructure investments across Nigeria’s transport value chain.
In a statement, TCAN said the theme, “Unlocking Economic Growth through Transportation Logistics,” reflects the urgency of strengthening Nigeria’s logistics backbone during a season of wide-ranging reforms across aviation, maritime, rail and road transport. It said the summit will draw top industry stakeholders, policymakers, regulators, financiers and development partners for what it describes as its most broad-based engagement yet.
TCAN chairman, Tola Adenubi, said transportation logistics remains the pillar of economic development and a key determinant of Nigeria’s competitiveness. He noted that from cargo handling at the nation’s gateways to inland freight operations and last-mile delivery systems, the efficiency of the logistics ecosystem continues to shape business productivity and overall economic performance.
Chairman of the 2026 Conference Committee, Suleiman Idris, said the summit will feature panel discussions, keynote presentations and interactive sessions designed to provide practical solutions to the constraints facing logistics operators.
He said participants would assess the current state of the country’s logistics architecture, identify bottlenecks slowing cargo and passenger movement and examine how integrated multimodal systems could support economic expansion.
According to him, the forum will also spotlight emerging investment opportunities across the logistics and supply chain landscape, while experts will offer policy recommendations aimed at improving efficiency, reducing operational costs and strengthening global competitiveness.
Over the years, the TCAN Annual Transport Summit has evolved into a respected platform for constructive dialogue between government institutions and logistics operators. Its deliberations have helped shape policy directions, enhance regulatory clarity and promote transparency within Nigeria’s transportation industry, reinforcing its importance as a leading voice in national transport discourse.
