Security operatives have dismantled suspected criminal hideouts and apprehended one suspect during a joint operation in Omala Local Government Area of Kogi State. The operation, conducted in the early hours of April 10, took place at Akpagogo Forest under the coordination of the Joint Task Force (JTF). Troops from the Nigerian Army's 12 Brigade, personnel from the Nigeria Police Force, and members of local vigilante groups participated in the mission. Details emerged from a post shared on X on Sunday by security analyst Zagazola Makama. The suspect was arrested for allegedly violating grazing regulations in the area. Following the arrest, security forces conducted a search that led to the discovery and subsequent destruction of makeshift camps believed to be used by criminal elements. The suspect has been transferred to the Divisional Police Headquarters in Abejukolo for further investigation and possible prosecution. The operation is part of sustained efforts by security agencies to eliminate safe havens for criminals and enhance safety in affected communities across Kogi State.
