A legal battle over the estate of former Adebayo Alao-Akala has revealed a sprawling portfolio of properties owned by the late politician both within Nigeria and overseas
The dispute is unfolding at an Oyo State High Court, where his first daughter, Oluwatoyin Alao Aderinto, has challenged the management of her father's estate.
In suit I/443/2024, Aderinto is seeking court intervention over what she describes as irregularities in the handling of her father's assets. Named as defendants are Oluwakemi Alao-Akala and Olamide Alabi, both listed as executors and administrators.
Aderinto told the court that, as the first daughter, she holds both legal and equitable interests in the estate. She alleged that several assets had already been sold without her consent, while others were at risk of
