Police rescue 15 trafficking victims in Osun, arrest one

The Osun State Police Command on Thursday said it had rescued 15 youths suspected to be victims of a human trafficking syndicate and arrested a suspect in connection with the crime.
A statement signed by the command’s spokesperson, Abiodun Ojelabi, obtained in Osogbo, explained that the victims were rescued from a house in Osogbo where they were camped by some people now on the run.
Ojelabi, who explained that intelligence-led operatives went to the house where the victims were lodged, said those who brought them from Niger, Togo and the Benin Republic with a promise of good job opportunities in Nigeria.
