Rising Murder Cases in Ebonyi Alarm Police
The Ebonyi State Police Command has sounded a warning over the increasing rate of murder in the state. According to the command, the alarming trend has seen four suspects arraigned in court in the past three weeks. The police spokesperson, SP Joshua Ukandu, revealed that the suspects were charged to court in March for alleged involvement in murder cases.
The suspects include Onyebuchi Eze, Eze Nwuke, Odinaka Emmanuel Okoh, and Uchenna Ota. The police are expressing concern over the rising incidence of homicide in the state, describing it as a "bad act to mankind." The Ebonyi Commissioner of Police, Mrs Urunwa Okafor, has condemned the trend, appealing to the people of Ebonyi to refrain from taking the law into their hands and report grievances to the nearest police station.
The police commissioner has also reaffirmed her open-door policy, urging members of the public to come forward with complaints, assuring them of prompt attention.
