An Assistant Superintendent of Police, Aondoaver Asom, has d!ed after sustaining gunshot injuries during an armed robbery attack in Ushongo Local Government Area of Benue State. According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the officer, attached to Ops Zenda Joint Task Force (JTF), was travelling in a commercial vehicle to his new place of assignment on February 24 when the vehicle was ambushed by armed robbers at Amile, along the Ugbema–Jato-Aka road. In the course of defending himself and other passengers, the officer reportedly shot three of the attackers d3ad. However, he sustained gunshot injuries during the exchange.
