The Commissioner of Police has assured that all suspects found culpable will be prosecuted in accordance with the law.

The recent crackdown on illicit drug trafficking in Delta State is a welcome development, but it raises questions about the state's ability to sustain such efforts. The Commissioner of Police's assurance that all suspects found culpable will be prosecuted is a reassuring statement, but it remains to be seen if the justice system will deliver on this promise. The fact that many of the notorious bush bars and hotels raided were found to be operating as brothels and serving as safe havens for criminal elements highlights the need for a more comprehensive approach to addressing the root causes of crime in the state. The people of Delta State deserve to live in a safe and secure environment, free from the scourge of illicit drugs and criminal activity.
