The arrest and recovery of a locally made pistol in Delta State raises concerns about the proliferation of illicit firearms in the country. The actions of the Delta State Police Command demonstrate a commitment to tackling this issue head-on. However, the fact that a 23-year-old suspect was in possession of a locally fabricated pistol suggests a worrying trend of young people being drawn into the illicit arms trade. This has significant implications for public safety and security in Nigeria. The ongoing investigation into the matter will be closely watched to determine the extent of the suspect's involvement and the potential links to larger organized crime networks.
