The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested two elderly men in separate operations across Nigeria. Pa John Ofiel, 83, was taken into custody on Tuesday, 28 April 2026, during a raid at Samek by Powerline in Aba. Officers recovered suspected illicit substances from the scene. Ogunjobi Samuel, 78, was also apprehended in Ibadan. The agency confirmed both arrests as part of an ongoing nationwide crackdown on drug trafficking and distribution networks. NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Boroffice, stated, "Age is not a barrier to criminality, and neither is it a shield." He added that the agency remains committed to dismantling drug networks regardless of the suspects' identities or age. The suspects are currently in NDLEA custody pending further investigation. No additional details about the type or quantity of drugs were disclosed.
