**Unidentified Woman Found Dead in Egbeda Drainage: Police Begin Investigation**
A shocking discovery was made in Egbeda, Ibadan, on Saturday, 14th March 2026, when a lifeless body of an unidentified woman was found in a drainage channel near the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The discovery was made by a good Samaritan who reported the incident to the police at the Egbeda Divisional Police Headquarters.
According to eyewitnesses, the woman's lifeless body was found lying inside the drainage near a car wash stand along the Iwo Road. Upon receiving the report, a team of police operatives from the Egbeda Division led by the Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) rushed to the scene.
During preliminary examination of the corpse, visible marks of violence were noticed around the head region, suggesting possible foul play. The police took photographs of the scene, evacuated the body, and deposited it at the Adeoyo State Hospital Mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
The Oyo State Police Command has now launched an investigation into the incident, aiming to determine the identity of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding her death. In a bid to aid the investigation, the command has appealed to members of the public, particularly those whose female family members or relatives are currently missing, to report to the Egbeda Divisional Police Headquarters or contact the nearest police station.
The police have assured the public that they will leave no stone unturned in unraveling the circumstances of this tragic incident and bringing anyone found culpable to justice. The public is urged to cooperate with the police in identifying the deceased and assisting in the ongoing investigation.
