Ondo PDP Rejects Dissolution of State Exco
**Ondo PDP Leaders Rebuff Claims of State Executive Dissolution**
The Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected claims that its State Executive Committee had been dissolved. According to the party's chairman, Dupe Aisida, the leadership of the party remains intact and fully operational. This decision was announced during a press conference held at the party's secretariat in Akure over the weekend.
The controversy arose from a statement circulating on social media that claimed a National Caretaker Working Committee had dissolved the Ondo State Executive Committee. However, Aisida explained that the party had not received any official communication from the national leadership to justify such an action.
In fact, the state leadership held its congresses in accordance with the party's constitution, with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the police, and the Department of State Services (DSS) present to monitor the process. The ward congress, for instance, was held on September 13, 2025, across all 203 wards in the state, with election observers confirming that the exercise was conducted in line with the party's guidelines.
The Ondo PDP leaders seem to be suggesting that the claims of dissolution were unfounded and lacking in constitutional backing. They want to assure their supporters that the leadership of the party in the state remains stable and committed to its duties.
This development may be seen in the context of Nigeria's complex party politics, where leadership battles and infighting are not uncommon. However, the Ondo PDP leaders are determined to show that their leadership remains legitimate and in control.
The party's chairman, Dupe Aisida, has called on her members to remain calm and focused, stressing that the leadership of the party remains committed to working for the progress and development of Ondo State. As the situation unfolds, one thing is clear: the Ondo PDP leadership is not backing down without a fight.
