Over 2,000 commercial motorcycle operators in Ondo State have publicly expressed their support for President Bola Tinubu's re-election bid in 2027. The motorcyclists, under the umbrella of the Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria, made their stance known in Akure, the state capital.

The association's decision to back Tinubu was reportedly influenced by his performance in office, which they believe has been beneficial to the country. According to Mr Akinlolu Olumonrin, the state chairman of ACOMORAN, the group's endorsement was a result of a thorough assessment of the President's policies and programmes.

Olumonrin noted that the association had previously struggled to achieve their goals in Ondo State, but believed that Tinubu's support could help make their vision a reality. He also urged the Federal Government to address the rising cost of fuel and the country's economic hardship, which he said were affecting transport operators.

The Director-General of the Asiwaju Mandate Group, Olumuyiwa Asagunla, welcomed the endorsement, stating that it would boost the chances of the ruling All Progressives Congress in the state ahead of the general election next year.
