Born in Ijebu-Ode, Okubadejo, fondly called Dapo, is a shining example of what it means to be a true son of Ogun State. Growing up in Ijebu-Ode, Okubadejo's academic prowess was evident from a young age. He began his educational journey at Luba Comprehensive High School and Ijebu Muslim College, where he consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence. His academic achievements earned him a spot at the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Agriculture degree. He later pursued higher education at the University of Glasgow, earning a Master of Finance degree as a British Chevening Scholar.
Okubadejo's professional journey has been nothing short of remarkable. With over three decades of experience, he has left an indelible mark on the global financial landscape. His early career took him through Arthur Andersen LLP, where he rose through the ranks from Staff Accountant to Senior Manager. He later joined KPMG Professional Services, one of the world's "Big Four" accounting firms, where he served in various capacities, including Associate Director, Partner, and Africa Head of Deal Advisory & Private Equity Group.
In 2019, Okubadejo transitioned into public service, bringing his expertise to Ogun State as Chief Economic Adviser to the Governor. Since then, he has been instrumental in driving transformative initiatives such as the Economic Transformation Project and the Revenue Mobilisation & Harmonisation Committee. These efforts have led to significant improvements in fiscal discipline, revenue optimisation, and sustainable economic reforms.
