The Ojota-Opebi Link Bridge in Lagos has been completed and is now open to traffic. The 480-metre bridge connects Ojota to Opebi along the busy Ikorodu Road corridor, aiming to ease gridlock in one of the city's most congested zones. Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu confirmed the commissioning, stating the project is part of the Lagos Mainland Corridor Improvement Initiative. The bridge includes dedicated lanes for buses and emergency vehicles, as well as pedestrian walkways. It was constructed at a reported cost of ₦10.5 billion. The project faced delays due to land acquisition issues and structural adjustments required near the Opebi end. Sanwo-Olu noted that the bridge eliminates the previous at-grade intersection, reducing travel time between Mende and Oshodi by up to 30 minutes during peak hours. The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) oversaw the engineering and design, while the construction was handled by Julius Berger Nigeria Plc. No official date was given for full integration with the planned Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system.
