**Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori Unveils N16.9 Billion Road Project in Oko Community** Residents of Oko in Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State are rejoicing over the inauguration of a 4.8-kilometre road project by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori. The newly constructed road, which spans from Oko to Amakom/Oko-Obiokpu/Oko-Anala, is expected to transform the lives of farmers in the area. Governor Oborevwori revealed that the terrain in Oko was previously challenging, especially during the rainy season, making it difficult for farmers to transport their produce to markets. This resulted in many farmers traveling to neighbouring Anambra State to sell their goods, often at reduced prices due to the transportation challenges. With the completion of this road project, farmers can now transport their produce to markets easily, thereby increasing their income. The governor also announced that the state government has approved the second phase of the project at a cost of N16.9 billion. The project will be handled by Setraco Nigeria Limited and is expected to be completed within 24 months. During his visit to Oko, Governor Oborevwori also inaugurated the Amaechi Agusi and adjoining roads project in Asaba, which was previously plagued by severe erosion and flooding. He said Delta State is witnessing a "harvest of projects" with several development projects recently completed across the state. Governor Oborevwori reiterated his administration's commitment to delivering development through its MORE Agenda, which aims to empower youths and women in the state. He promised more empowerment programmes for the benefit of the people. Community leaders and government officials at the event praised Governor Oborevwori for the project, describing the newly-built road as a major step towards improving economic activities and living conditions in the area. The completion of this road project is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of residents in Oko and neighbouring communities.
