The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) will hold its 30th matriculation ceremony for the 2026_1 semester on Wednesday, 8 April 2026. The event will take place virtually across all NOUN study centres. A web link and login details for the online ceremony will be shared later with students and centres.

Newly admitted students are expected to participate in an orientation programme on Tuesday, 7 April 2026. Study Centre Directors have been directed to organise the orientation a day before the matriculation ceremony. The schedule applies to all new students and study centres nationwide.

NOUN's decision to hold the 2026_1 matriculation ceremony online means students across the country can participate without travel. This removes logistical barriers and increases access for new learners in remote locations.
