Nigerians can’t ignore the realities of APC’s failures – ADC
**Nigeria's APC: A Party in Denial of Its Failures**
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has fired back at the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) over its response to criticisms of President Bola Tinubu's economic reforms. The ADC rejected the APC's claims that the opposition party is inciting Nigerians against the government, stating that the data on rising poverty rates and declining living standards are undeniable facts that cannot be dismissed.
According to a statement by the ADC's National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party is not making up the numbers, but rather highlighting publicly available reports that reveal the human cost of the APC's economic policies. These reports show that Nigeria's poverty rate has risen to a staggering 63 percent, up from 50 percent before the removal of petrol subsidy, which has pushed tens of millions of Nigerians into poverty.
Furthermore, independent surveys reveal that 93 percent of Nigerians believe the country is heading in the wrong direction, while 88 percent describe the national economy as bad, and 74 percent say their personal living conditions are poor. These numbers speak volumes about the APC's failed economic reforms and the suffering of ordinary Nigerians.
The ADC's response is a wake-up call for the APC, which seems to be in denial of its failures. Rather than addressing the clear evidence of the government's economic missteps, the APC is busy attacking the opposition and dismissing the lived realities of millions of citizens. This is a classic case of closing one's eyes to the truth and hoping it goes away.
Nigerians cannot afford to ignore the harsh realities of the APC's failures. The data is clear, and the consequences of the government's policies are being felt by millions of Nigerians. It's time for the APC to take responsibility for its actions and work towards creating a better future for all Nigerians, not just a privileged few.
