The NNPC Exploration and Production Limited (NEPL)/Seplat Energy Joint Venture has commissioned two Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) laboratories at Ogbe and Uselu Secondary Schools in Edo State. The facilities were officially opened on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, in Benin City. Located in Oredo and Ikpoba Okha Local Government Areas, the laboratories are equipped with modern learning tools to enhance practical education in STEAM subjects. The project forms part of the NEPL/Seplat JV's corporate social responsibility initiative aimed at improving educational infrastructure in host communities. Representatives of the joint venture stated the labs are designed to foster innovation, critical thinking, and long-term sustainability in Nigeria's education sector. Students and teaching staff at both schools are expected to benefit from upgraded learning environments and access to digital resources. The initiative aligns with broader efforts to bridge gaps in science and technology education in public secondary schools.
