Ndume Flays Borno Bombings, Wants FG To Prioritise Security, Not 2027 Polls
**Ndume Tells FG to Prioritise Security Over 2027 Polls**
Senator Ali Ndume, a ranking member of the 10th National Assembly, has expressed deep concern over the recent bombings in Maiduguri, the capital city of Borno State. He called on President Tinubu's administration to focus on governance, particularly the security of lives and property, and the welfare of citizens.
Ndume lamented that potential voters are losing their lives due to security threats in the North-east and other regions. He urged the government to put politics aside and concentrate on the safety and well-being of Nigerians. According to him, if the government fails to address these issues, it will become seen as the enemy of the people.
The Borno South Senator specifically asked President Tinubu to take immediate action to address the security situation. He emphasized that the government should be seen to be working tirelessly to improve the lives of Nigerians. With many people still missing from the Ngoshe massacre, Ndume said that the government should be seen to be taking concrete steps to address the situation.
Ndume also called on security agencies to increase their efforts in investigating and gathering intelligence on terrorist attacks. He suggested that the perpetrators of the Maiduguri bombings should be arrested and brought to justice. He noted that one of the Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) was detonated from a tricycle, which should have been registered with the relevant authority, and investigation will reveal the owner, helping to identify those behind the explosions.
In essence, Ndume wants the government to prioritize the security and welfare of Nigerians, rather than being preoccupied with politics and the 2027 polls. He believes that by doing so, the government can win the trust and support of the people, and create a safer and more prosperous Nigeria for all.
