The National Bureau of Statistics released its Company Income Tax (CIT) report for the fourth quarter of 2025 in Abuja on Wednesday. The report puts total CIT collections at N1.49 trillion, a 49.81 percent fall from the N2.96 trillion recorded in the third quarter.
Domestic companies contributed N819.83 billion while foreign entities paid N668.21 billion in the same period. Activities of extraterritorial organisations posted the strongest quarter‑on‑quarter increase at 75.15 percent, followed by education at 54.20 percent and real estate at 27.25 percent.
"On the other hand, accommodation and food services activities recorded the least growth rate at -67.11 per cent, followed by activities of households as employers, undifferentiated goods and services producing activities of households for own use at -63.49 per cent. "It said mining quarrying was recorded at -49.63 per cent."
